Taipei Cultural Booth in XMS
A culture & education initiative of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, Friends@YOG is a ‘twinning programme’ endorsed by the International Olympic Committee. It offers a platform where young people of the world can come together to connect to the Olympic Movement, learn about each other’s cultures and build lasting friendships.




TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan won its second medal yesterday when weightlifter Lu Ying-chi took bronze in the women's 63-kg category with a total lift of 231 kg on the fourth day of the Beijing Olympics. 

BEIJING -- Chinese Taipei’s Chen Wei-ling won a bronze medal Saturday in the women’s 48-kg weightlifting competition at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, picking up Taiwan’s first medal of the games. Chen lifted 84 kg in the snatch event before moving on to lift 112 kg in the clean and jerk event for a total score of 196 kg. 
The YOG is an event balancing sport, culture and education. The Culture and Education Programme (CEP) is hence an integral part of the YOG.
